{"title":"Guiding \/ Tuition","description":"","products":[{"product_id":"fish-on-on-tour","title":"Fish On - On Tour","description":"\u003cp\u003eIn Association With\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLEEKWORTH CARAVAN PARK\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMIDDLETON-IN-TEESDALE\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCOUNTY DURHAM\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAndy and JT will be hosting two \u003cstrong\u003e'River Fly Fishing Days' \u003c\/strong\u003eat \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.caravancampingteesdale.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"\u003eLeekworth Caravan Park\u003c\/a\u003e on \u003cstrong\u003eSaturday 6 June 2026\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eSaturday 5 September 2026\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese events are open to anglers of all abilities and also non-anglers wishing to get into fly fishing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach day will start at 9am and will include:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- entomology (what do fish actually eat?)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- fly tying (how do we imitate these food items?)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- fly casting (how do we propel these virtually weightless flies to the fish?)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- fly fishing demonstrations\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- fly fishing for those with their own equipment on a private beat of the River Tees.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAndy and JT will be staying at \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.caravancampingteesdale.co.uk\/\"\u003eLeekworth Caravan Park\u003c\/a\u003e on the Friday before each event and on the Saturday evening after each event should anyone wish to join them. There may be the option of more fishing on the Sundays too.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the future it is hoped that Andy and JT will be able to run more formal 'On Tour' Events at Leekworth Caravan Park.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt ON TOUR events you will be fishing as part of a small group with John and Andy - both of them former IFFA International River Flyfishing Champions and multi-capped England International anglers - You will learn and improve on all your river skills.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor each ON TOUR event, John and Andy will be your hosts and guides for the entire day. We shall fish to the prevailing conditions on the day, covering different techniques as appropriate.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach event will look at:-\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- Selection of the most appropriate methods for the venue and prevailing conditions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- Tackle selection. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- Basic entomology and appropriate artificial selection\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- Rivercraft and 'Reading the Water'\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- Method demos from John and Andy with group and where possible 'one on one' fishing time with Andy or John for each method.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- Wrap up, final questions and answers session.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAttendees should bring their own equipment for the days fishing but for anyone wishing to experiment with anything a little different to their existing setup an array of Marryat Rods will be available to fish with for the duration of the day without any obligation. The rods are available for sale and significant refunds are available against the cost of the guided day for attendees going on to purchase a rod.  We also operate a generous part exchange scheme if you would like to upgrade to a Marryat fly rod.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNumbers will be strictly limited on each event so book early to secure your place. A rod licence is mandatory for all.
