The JT Olive.
JT's 'signature' dry fly, but not named by the man himself!
World Fly Fishing Championships, France 2002. The afternoon practice sessions on all the rivers offered a complex 'mixed hatch' situation for the members of Team England to work out. A variety of species hatched simultaneously and fish would often get preoccupied with just one of them. Caddis and midges were present in numbers, but it was the Baetis (olive) species which dominated. Anglers used many Baetis copies to fool the fish, but at team meetings, most would agree that it was "JT's Olive" which worked the best.
Over time "JT's Olive" became "The JT OIive"
